Valuation
of Parcels
The student fills out an
activity ticket, provided by John’s Pack & Ship, for each parcel. On
the activity ticket, the student enters her/his name, the consignee's name and
address (or fall residence for stored items), and the value and content
description of each package. . John’s Pack & Ship is
liable up to the amount listed, in case of loss or damage, for the market value
of the property, with proper deduction for depreciation. Liability for each
parcel is limited to the value documented on the activity ticket. If no value
is listed on the activity ticket, the default value is $100 for shipped items
and $50 for stored items. Fragile items
not packed by us are insured against loss only, not for damage.
Cost of
Insurance
Insurance may be purchased in
$100 increments at a cost of $1.00 per hundred.
Up to $50,000 of insurance may be purchased per parcel for shipped items and
$5,000 for stored items.
Claims
Processing
Claims must be made within 30 days of
delivery. All problems associated with
damage claims are resolved by John’s Pack & Ship.
